Brussels Art Deco meets Urban Minimalism

A lush garden in the middle of a crowded city like Brussels, it’s a rare thing. So exceptional, we designed an entire hotel reception and restaurant around it. Oasis in the urban desert feeling included. The foundation for this ownable design? Ibis Châtelaine was blessed with a garden visible from the street, authentic architectural elements and a circular shaped ground floor. Essential features we brought together in a minimalistic blend of art deco and urban, attracting both business people as well as and urban travellers.

This approach resulted in a vibrant design with a striking bar as the central meeting point, a communal space with a garden view and a versatile buffet area. Or how to make an Ibis Rouge stand out in a high-end Brussels quartier.

Ibis Brussels Centre Châtelaine featured as the first Ibis hotel in Europe to implement the newly introduced “Plaza” room design concept. The leitmotif of the concept was to integrate the city and street life into the hotel lobby, without losing sight of the room design. A strong advantage in the case of Ibis Brussels Centre Châtelain, since it was located in a high-end quartier of Brussel with a rich Art Deco heritage.
